Learners then participate in two 90-minute, Instructor-led, virtual sessions. The first session explains the difference among biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation; correctly defines “transgender,” “gender non-conforming,” and “non-binary” describe LGBTQ+ youth using affirming language; names two negative outcomes that occur for LGBTQ+ youth who experience rejection or hostility because of their gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation.
