SCR Reform Bill: Promoting Equity Through Legislative Changes

About SCR Reform Bill Training

This training will introduce learners to the upcoming changes brought by the SCR Reform Bill and how these changes impact child welfare work in New York State, bringing more fairness and equity to our system. During this 20-minute eLearn, learners will be taught about how this law increases the standard of evidence required to indicate a report of child abuse or neglect, and makes other changes to minimize undue hardships for low-income families. 

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for direct service staff, supervisors, and managers working in child protection, foster care, and prevention services.

Benefits of the Program

Participants will:

  • Recognize why the law is being changed.
  • Define the new standard of evidence required to indicate a report.
  • Describe how this new law effects employment and foster care licensing for those individuals with indicated cases.

There are no prerequisites required to take this course.

Course Components

Once enrolled in the course, learners will complete:

An interactive, 20 minute eLearning program.

Completion of all components is necessary to receive a Certificate of Completion.
