About the MAPP – Deciding Together Leader Certification Virtual Training

Designed as an alternative to the standard GPS II/MAPP program, Deciding Together brings the preparation and selection process to individual families who cannot participate in group meetings to decide whether fostering is right for them. This two-day Train-The-Trainer workshop will certify the learners to conduct the Deciding Together program on a virtual platform. 

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for Foster care and adoptive caseworkers, supervisors, homefinders, Directors of Social Services, and agency administrators in ACS Provider Agencies who are Certified GPSII Leaders.

Benefits of the Program

Participants will:

  • Be provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to support individual families to ensure they are prepared for fostering using seven online family consultations.
  • Be able to will receive a video and workbooks to use with each family.

Course Prerequisites

Prior to attending this course, learners are required to have completed:

  • The GPSII/MAPP Leader Certification.

Course Components

Once enrolled in the course, learners will complete:

  • An online pre-test accessed through the Cornerstone Learning Management System.
  • A 2-day online workshop.
  • An online post-test accessed through the Cornerstone Learning Management System.

Completion of all components is necessary to receive a Certificate of Completion
