The Office of Training and Workforce Development strives to create a positive learning experience for all participants. The following were put in place to support the successful provision of professional development opportunities for all learners.
Completion of your pre-work is REQUIRED, and you WILL NOT have an opportunity to complete your pre-work onsite. You WILL NOT be admitted to class if you have not completed your prework.
To receive full credit for any course you take, you MUST complete all components of the program – including any required prework and postwork. You also MUST be in attendance all the scheduled days.
Late arrivals are very disruptive. Classes start promptly at 9:00 AM and there is no admittance after 9:30 AM.
Those who leave a classroom session early will not receive credit for the class. Please speak with staff within the class to assist you with any issues.
All training locations have a dedicated lactation room.
The New York City Administration for Children’s Services is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0402. To receive your contact hours, you MUST complete all components of the program. The number of contact hours and Continuing Education units that you can receive is listed in the description for each class.
Inclement Weather Policy
For the James Satterwhite Academy, staff is expected to make every effort to overcome weather-related difficulties to attend training. If this is not possible, staff should be in touch with their supervisor.
For the Workforce Institute, if New York City public schools are closed classes will be cancelled and attendees should report to their primary work location unless instructed otherwise by their supervisor.
