About the Attachment and Bio-Behavioral Catch-Up Virtual Training

This virtual course consists of one four-hour instructor-led virtual session. This course provides an overview of the Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC) intervention that is offered to children and families across NYC. Learners will understand the role of attachment and the impact of trauma (ACES) in the socio-emotional and cognitive development of infants and toddlers and explain the benefits of the ABC intervention to families while considering challenges they might present.

Who Should Attend?

This course is intended for all direct service staff, supervisors, and managers within Foster Care only.

Benefits of the Program

Participants will:

  • Interpret the role of attachment and the impact of trauma (ACES) in the socio-emotional and cognitive development of infants and toddlers. 
  • Describe the ABC intervention for children in care and/or those transitioning home. 
  • Select eligible families for the intervention. 
  • Explain the benefits of the ABC intervention to families while considering challenges they might present.

There are no course prerequisites associated with this course.

Course Components

Once enrolled in the course, learners will complete: 

  • A four-hour, virtual instructor-led workshop.

Completion of all components is necessary to receive a Certificate of Completion.
