A Learning Program for NYC Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Professionals
This course reviews the key issues, needs and strengths of LGBTQ children and youth. Learners identify ways to prevent discrimination, harassment, and violence against LGBTQ children as well as review the rights of LGBTQ children, youth, and families while involved in Children’s Services and contracted provider agency staff. Additionally, learners apply best practices to foster supportive, inclusive, and affirming environments for LGBTQ children, youth, and families.
This course is required for direct service staff and supervisors in Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice.
There are no prerequisites required to take this course.
Once enrolled in the course, learners will complete:
