For James Satterwhite Academy courses, individuals cannot register themselves and can only register through their HSLC Coordinator for courses offered to them. Please reach out to your HSLC Coordinator to register.

Required Components
You can find your pre-work within the curriculum of the class you are registered for. Access your transcript in Cornerstone which displays your list of classes. Once you find the curriculum of the class you’re enrolled in, please click on the ‘Open Curriculum’ button.

Completion of your pre-work is REQUIRED, and you WILL NOT have an opportunity to complete your pre-work onsite. You WILL NOT be admitted to class if you have not completed your pre-work.
Your post-work is available to you after you have completed your classroom session. Access your transcript in Cornerstone which displays your list of classes. Once you find the curriculum of the class you’re enrolled in, please click on the ‘Open Curriculum’ button. Your post-work will be listed after your classroom session.
For James Satterwhite Academy courses, certificates are provided at the completion of the course.

To access your Continuing Education Certificate, you must have completed all components of your curriculum. Access your transcript in Cornerstone which displays your list of classes. Once you find the classroom session you attended, please click on ‘View Certificate’.
Continuing Education Contact Hours
The number of contact hours that you can receive is listed in the description for each class.
No, the New York City Administration for Children’s Services is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0402.
Preventive Requirements
All direct service staff and supervisors working in preventive services are required to take a minimum of 6 days/42 hours of training each year. See below for more information about required courses, which must be completed before other classes can be taken.
To complete the full 6 days/42 hours, additional courses are available through the Workforce Institute. To receive full credit for a course, you must complete all components of the course.
Foundational onboarding courses are available options for new staff (Direct Service or Supervisors) and must be taken prior to the required courses. Required courses can be taken in the new employee’s first year, but do not need to be.

Log into Cornerstone. Once you have logged in, click on the ‘Transcript’ icon on the left side of your screen and scroll down to your ‘FY18 Training Requirements’.
For a training to be complete, all components of the course must be complete. Please check to make sure you have completed all components.
Yes, if you wish to substitute training offered outside of the Workforce Institute, please contact Hillary Williams or Jennifer Jaffe so your request can be reviewed.
