Registration

How can I register myself and/or my staff?

For James Satterwhite Academy courses, individuals cannot register themselves and can only register through their HSLC Coordinator for courses offered to them. Please reach out to your HSLC Coordinator to register.

How will I know my User ID and Password?

I forgot my password, can you reset it?

You can reset your password by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password’ link on the ACS Workforce Institute Cornerstone login page.

Where do I find my pre-work?

You can find your pre-work within the curriculum of the class you are registered for. Click here to access your transcript in Cornerstone which displays your list of classes. Once you find the curriculum of the class you’re enrolled in, please click on the ‘Open Curriculum’ button.

How do I know if I have finished all required pre-work?

Where can I find my post-work?

Where can I find my certificate?

For James Satterwhite Academy courses, certificates are provided at the completion of the course.

For Workforce Institute courses, your certificate can be found once you have completed all components of a curriculum. Click here to access your transcript in Cornerstone which displays your list of classes. Once you find the curriculum of the class you’ve completed, please click on the ‘View Certificate’ button.

Continuing Education Contact Hours

I’m a licensed social worker, can I receive contact hours for the trainings I attend?

The New York City Administration for Children’s Services is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0402. Almost all James Satterwhite Academy and Workforce Institute courses offer contact hours.

How many contact hours can I get for trainings I’ve attended?

The number of contact hours that you can receive is listed in the description for each class.

I’m not a social worker, can I still receive contact hours for my profession?

Preventive Requirements

What are the preventive requirements?

All direct service staff and supervisors working in preventive services are required to take a minimum of 6 days/42 hours of training each year. See below for more information about required courses, which must be completed before other classes can be taken.

To complete the full 6 days/42 hours, additional courses are available through the Workforce Institute. To receive full credit for a course, you must complete all components of the course.

Foundational onboarding courses are available options for new staff (Direct Service or Supervisors) and must be taken prior to the required courses. Required courses can be taken in the new employee’s first year, but do not need to be.

Where can I see what I have completed towards my requirements?

Log into Cornerstone. Once you have logged in, click on the ‘Transcript’ icon on the left side of your screen and scroll down to your ‘FY18 Training Requirements’.

Why am I not getting credit for trainings I’ve completed?

For a training to be complete, all components of the course must be complete. Please check to make sure you have completed all components.

Can I use other classes I’ve taken towards my preventive requirement?

Yes, if you wish to substitute training offered outside of the Workforce Institute, please contact Hillary Williams or Jennifer Jaffe so your request can be reviewed.

Parking

Is there parking available at any training locations?

There are no designated parking spaces available at any of our training locations.

Lactation Room

Do the training sites have a lactation room?

Each training location has a dedicated lactation room.
